Bug Camp is a week-long residential summer camp for middle school students to participate in biological science by investigating the amazing world of insects.  The program uses insects to inspire creative thinking through hands‑on, interactive, discovery‑based learning.  Activities include collecting field trips, identifying, curating and experimenting with insects to investigate biological principles.  All of the activities engage students in independent discovery of the natural world so that their enthusiasm for science is strengthened.

Bug Camp is a residential camp.  Students arrive at the UNCA campus on Sunday afternoon and remain until the following Friday afternoon.  Campers experience the University setting by working in science laboratories and conducting field trips during the day.  Evening programs include night collecting and experience with science careers.   Students sleep in University residence halls.   Note to Parents:  Camp safety is our #1 concern and students are under adult supervision at all times.
