Research and Professional Interests:
Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by the role of psychological factors in the course of health and illness. Now, as a clinical health psychologist, my empirical and theoretical efforts are focused on understanding so-called psychophysiological processes. Historically termed psychosomatics or mind-body interactions, such processes comprise intrapersonal and interpersonal factors that underlie wellness and disease. Thus, while considering various mechanisms of biological balance, fitness, and function, I research their affective, belief-based, cognitive, conative, developmental, and spiritual concomitants.
