The Lava Lamp
This is my all-time favorite Mathematica animation, an excellent, if
somewhat whimsical, example of what you can do with parametric equations.
The individual images were generated by
this Mathematica code, from an article by
Robert Rudd in the Fall 1995 issue of The Mathematica Journal.
The images were then assembled into an animated gif using
GifBuilder.
