This is a metric century ride organized by the Phantom Riders Bicycle Club of Polk County, NC every Fourth of July. The ride starts at Tryon Middle School. It goes around the very small loop at green start symbol in the counter clockwise direction before proceeding South on 176. It then goes around the loop on the right in the clockwise direction. After it returns to Tryon, it goes around Lake Lanier and finally around the largest loop in the clockwise direction. The ride is quite beautiful and the section through Lake Lanier is very fun. The ride is mostly rolling with a few very steep, but short, sections. There is one long climb up the Greenville watershed.
