Snook's Nose

This 13 mile ride has one of the hardest descents I've done. We started on Curtis Creek Road outside of Old Fort. Curtis Creek is just a dirt road by this point and climbs up to the parkway. After reaching the Parkway, we turned left and climbed up to the Green Knob overlook; this took us from milepost 347 to milepost 350 and treated us to some beautiful views of the Northern side of Mount Mitchell. The Snook's Nose Trail hits the North end of the overlook. Note that it's illegal to mountain bike on Parkway trails, thus you need to walk the first 50 feet or so. You might want to walk anyway since it's insanely steep.
