This 14 mile mountain bike ride is near the South Mills River area. We drove through North Mills River on Yellow Gap road all the way to the Laurel Mountain trail head. Laurel Mountain goes up for about 6 miles until it hits Pilot Rock, which is a very rugged trail. After a bit of very intense uphill, Pilot Rock descends back down to Yellow Gap road, which you can ride back up to the trail head. On this particular day though, we extended the single track a bit by taking a connector trail off of Pilot Rock over to Pilot Cove.
