This is a very well known ride east of Asheville. At 9.5 miles, it's not very long but is fairly technical. The parking area is not far from the Ridgecrest exit off of I-40 east of Asheville. It starts with short, but technical, uphill section consisting of 12 switchbacks. The trail then bombs down to an old cement road which goes back up to the parking area.
I've heard recently (August, '07), that the end of the trail has been closed by the owner.
