| I am a plant
physiological ecologist by training. I received my Ph.D. in
Forestry from
Northern Arizona University in
Flagstaff in 2000 while working with Drs.
Steve Hart
and Tom
Kolb. Before that I earned a M.S. degree in
Biology from
Appalachian State University in 1996 with Dr.
Howie Neufeld. I earned a B.S. in Biology in 1990 from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel

Research Interests:
1. My major research focus is in the field of plant physiological
ecology.
2. Specifically, the physiological responses of plants to various
abiotic and biotic stressors,
especially in response to climate and land use change.
3. Characteristics that make plant species successful invaders
4. Application of ecological knowledge of plant responses to stress
to the fields of natural
resource management, environmental science, and
restoration ecology.
5. Applications of stable isotope analysis in plant ecology. |
