Family, Values

My husband, Tom, and I live in Asheville, NC. We have 5 children (3 mine, 2 his) and 4 grandkids . Follow the link to the left to see somewhat outdated family photos!

My interests include food and wine, singing, playing cards, reading, cooking, travel, art, and sports. Try out my favorite recipes.

Research

I am interested in learning and memory at a cellular level.  Particularly, the role of calcium in memory.  (current research notes).

I got tired of living on the road and dealing with the corporate rat-race. So, I quit work and went to Rice University in Houston, Texas to study computational neuroscience. I completed my PhD at Rice University in the Computation and Applied Mathematics department in January, 2006.

I was then an assistant professor of mathematics at UNC Asheville where I taught a variety of courses including statistics, math modeling, computational neuroscience, humanities, and vagina dialogues.  (Current CV)

Tom and I plan to open a small wine import and distribution business and do a lot of travelling.
