Math 191, Calculus I
 
NOTE: Many science and engineering courses have Calculus I as a prerequisite. Thus if you are planning to major in the Physical Sciences, Mathematics, or Engineering take this course as early as possible. 
General: Math 191 is a standard first semester calculus class intended for students majoring in the sciences.  It requires a solid understanding of basic algebra as typically taught in high school.  Before you sign up for this class check two things: 
1) Does your major require Calculus I? See "Majors that require Calculus I".
2) Are you ready for it?
Prerequisite: Math 167 or the high school equivalent.
Description: An introduction to limits, derivatives, and integrals.
Typical Text: Thomas' Calculus: Early Transcendentals, Tenth Edition*  by Finney, Weir, and Giadono
