This consortium is dedicated to promoting international conversations about the implementation and improvement of general and liberal studies programs in colleges and universities world-wide.  We believe that such programs help students to develop the capacity for lifelong learning; to understand and assume responsible citizenship; and to develop as whole persons in individual traditions that are essential parts of a global humanity.  We believe, furthermore, that each institution undertaking these programs has much to offer to enrich this conversation, and that no one type of program is universally applicable:  the principles of mutuality and equality, implicit in the liberal arts philosophy, are essential to our conversations.

Our goal is to assist possibilities for collaboration through short- or long-term linkages, and to offer a crucial international dimension that can enhance each of our own institutions.
