BIO356: DESERT ECOLOGY

Survey of the major aspects of the desert environments in the southwestern United States, including geologic formations and animal-plant adaptations to the harsh conditions.  Course includes a field survey of desert conditions in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona.  Prerequisite: BIO210,211.  There will be an extra stipend required to help with the costs of the trip.  This course is team-taught by several faculty members at UNCA, most recently Dr. Jonathan Horton and myself.  It's a tremendously fun course -- take it if you possibly can!
